The word "psychedelic", which stems from the root words of psyche and delos, meaning mind and manifesting, was coined to describe and experience that brings forth hidden elements of the human mind. A substance found in this group acts to mildly or severly alter perception and cognition of the user. Unlike stimulants and opiates, which vastly augment familiar states of mind, psychedelic drugs tend to bend and twist consciousness in a way that results in a state of mind noticeably different from anything previously undergone. The following is a list of common and uncommon psychedelic drugs.

Psychedelics are considered by many to be the absolute safest of all halucinogenics, and even drugs themselves. There danger rating is often between 0 and 1 in a physically dangerous respect and between 0 and 3 psychologically.
